Serial Entrepreneur Daniel S. Aegerter Joins Exigen Capital Advisory Board

e-Commerce software pioneer and entrepreneur to advise on B2B software investment in private equity firm’s newly formed council

San Francisco, CA,
July 21, 2009
 — Greg Shenkman, managing partner of transformational private equity firm Exigen Capital, today announced that Daniel S. Aegerter has been named to the firm’s advisory board. Aegerter, who launched his first business at age 18, brings to Exigen Capital 21 years of entrepreneurial, e-commerce and business-to-business (B2B) technology experience – including exiting his most recent technology startup at a valuation of $5.6 billion.

“e-Commerce and online self-service have become crucial drivers of business efficiency and value,” said Shenkman. “As an entrepreneur and pioneer in the development of platforms for the e-marketplace, Mr. Aegerter brings a unique vision to Exigen Capital and will provide us with vital counsel as we apply these value drivers to our investments.”

Currently, Aegerter is Chairman and Founder of Armada Investment Group, a family office organization that has been actively involved in initiating various private equity and venture capital transactions across asset classes and regions in both the United States and Europe. Aegerter formed Armada Investment Group following the successful merger of his B2B software company, TRADEX Technologies, with Ariba for $5.6 billion in March 2000. As Chairman and CEO of TRADEX, an Atlanta, GA-based pioneer of digital marketplace platforms that have powered some of the world’s leading e-marketplaces, Aegerter had been responsible for setting the strategic direction and goals for the company.

An entrepreneur from an early age, Aegerter started his first business, DYNABIT AG, an importer and distributor for Apple Macintosh peripherals, in 1988 at the age of 18 while completing his apprenticeship at Swiss Bank Corporation. Aegerter has also launched several social investment projects and is an active member of the World Economic Forum.

“As an incurable entrepreneur, I am always interested in new approaches to creating value,” said Aegerter. “I look forward to working with Exigen Capital because their investment strategy is truly focused on using operational transformation to build profitable growth businesses.”
